Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov met with Mr. Masadik Masood Malik , Minister Petroleum of Pakistan and Nicola Melchiotti, CEO of CESI SpA within the COP event.

At the meeting with Musadik Masood Malik, the Minister of Petroleum and Water Resources of Pakistan, the sides expressed satisfaction with the high-level relations between the two countries. In particular, the important role of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev to Pakistan in July this year in raising bilateral relations to a qualitatively new stage and determining various directions of cooperation in the field of energy was emphasized. Cooperation opportunities between the State Oil Company of Pakistan (PSO) and SOCAR on trade in petroleum products and oil and gas infrastructure projects were assessed. The acceleration of bilateral consultations was noted.

They also exchanged views on cooperation in the field of renewable energy. Pakistan has been invited to join COP29's energy initiatives.

At the meeting with Nicola Melchiotti, CEO of CESI SpA, the current state of the feasibility study of the project Caspian - Black Sea - European Green Energy Corridor and the preliminary results of the study were evaluated. Discussions were also held on the activities of CESI SpA, which was involved as a consulting company in the feasibility study of the green energy development and transmission project between Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Bulgaria's accession to the project, the transportation of renewable energy from Central Asian countries through this corridor, infrastructure financing and the participation of European companies were considered.
