Virtual information sessions were held with countries party to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), with the participation of Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Energy Orkhan Zeynalov, to promote energy initiatives of Azerbaijan's COP29 Presidency.

The purpose of the virtual briefings held jointly with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP), the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the International Renewable Energy Agency (Irena) was to provide countries with detailed information on COP29 energy initiatives - Green Energy Pledge: Green Energy Zones and Corridors, Global Storage and Networks Pledge, and COP29 Hydrogen Declaration, and to discuss ways for countries to join and support these initiatives.

During the day, more than 200 representatives from the public, private sector, international organizations and financial institutions participated in the 2 sessions.
