Power engineers visited the grave of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and the Alley of Martyrs
On the occasion of Power Engineer's Day, the staff of the Ministry of Energy, Azerenergy OJSC and Azerishiq OJSC visited the the Alley of Honor and paid tribute to the memory of the National Leader of our people, architect and founder of our modern independent state Heydar Aliyev and laid wreaths and flowers at his grave.
Prominent ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva and public figure Aziz Aliyev were also commemorated and fresh flowers were laid on their graves.
The event continued with a visit to the Alley of Martyrs. The energy workers honored the memory of the heroic sons of the Motherland who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and laid flowers on their graves.
It should be mentioned that, on 20 October 1981, on the initiative and under the leadership of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, a new stage in the development of the energy system of Azerbaijan was laid, with the commissioning of the first power unit of the "Azerbaijan" TPP. By the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, No. 446 dated 13 October 2004, that date was established in our country as the "Power Engineers Day".
