Deputy Energy Minister Orkhan Zeynalov met with the delegation of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), which includes the Senior Director for ADB's Energy Sector Office Priyantha Wijayatunga and the Director, Energy Division, Central and West Asia Department (CWRD) Joonho Hwang.

During the conversation, the successful continuation of close cooperation between our country and the Bank, the development of the energy sector, in particular, the Bank's support for projects to transport Azerbaijani natural gas to Europe were highly appreciated.

Potential projects in the energy sector and new opportunities for cooperation in the energy sector were discussed at the meeting. The measures taken by Azerbaijan in the direction of development of renewable energy sources, the green energy potential of our country, its production and export issues were discussed, and information about our energy initiatives and planned actions related to COP29 was given.

The expected impact of a 100 kW solar power plant on Lake Boyukshor, which was commissioned last month within the Knowledge Exchange and Technical Assistance on the Development of Floating Solar Panels System Project implemented by the Ministry of Energy and ADB, on the diversification of green energy sources in Azerbaijan was discussed.

During the meeting, measures to be taken to reform the field of heat supply in Azerbaijan within the framework of ADB technical support were discussed. The sides exchanged views on the support for the implementation of the Caspian-Black Sea-Europe Green Energy Corridor project, and future joint cooperation opportunities on the project of creating the Azerbaijan-Central Asia-Europe green energy corridor.
