Deputy Energy Minister spoke at the event organized within the H2-diplo - Decarbonization Diplomacy Initiative

Deputy Energy Minister, Chief Executive Officer of COP29 Elnur Soltanov made the opening remark at an event organized by GIZ under the German Foreign Ministry's H2-diplo - Decarbonization Diplomacy initiative.

During the speech, he outlined Azerbaijan's strategic plans and initiatives as the host of COP29, including activities planned for the energy day. He highlighted that Azerbaijan's energy transition efforts, the cornerstone of its decarbonization strategy, began long before the country assumed the COP29 presidency. Interestingly, the chosen slogan for global climate discussions at COP29 aligns almost perfectly with Azerbaijan's pre-existing national agenda. The Deputy Minister expressed hope that the focus on clean hydrogen, particularly in the realm of international certification schemes, will significantly boost the sector's development. He also discussed ongoing collaborations with international partners in this field and emphasized that the Caspian-European Green Energy Corridor is exploring export opportunities not only for green electrons but also for green hydrogen.
