A meeting was held between Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Vice - President of S&P Global Commodity Insights Carlos Pascual. At the meeting, discussions were held on Azerbaijan's transformative course of action in the field of green energy in the context of the global energy transition and the directions of cooperation with the company.

Carlos Pascual, Vice President of S&P Global Commodity Insights, who expressed his gratitude for representing Azerbaijan at the CERAWeek conference, was interested in the priorities of our country for the transition to green energy and the issues on the energy agenda during the COP.

Emphasizing that the socio-economic development strategy and reforms in the energy sector implemented under the leadership of the Head of State, the Minister of Energy gave information about the goals and implemented projects related to the production and export of renewable energy. It was noted that the establishment of green energy zones in Karabakh, East Zangezur and Nakhchivan, green energy corridors on the routes Caspian-Black Sea - Europe, Central Asia - Azerbaijan - Europe, connection of 9 wind-solar power plants to the grid by 2027, initiatives and projects on decarbonization, hydrogen production-transport and energy storage systems will contribute to energy transformation in the region and Europe, as well as Azerbaijan. During the COP event, the provision of green energy to the Sangachal Terminal through the solar power plant, which will be laid by bp, was assessed as an example of successful decarbonization.

During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on the progress and problems of the use of renewable energy in the world and the establishment of mutual energy links between countries. The proposals put forward by the company for cooperation within the COP29 were considered.
