The first meeting of the Joint Working Group on energy in online format between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan was held at the Ministry of Energy.

The Deputy Minister speaking at the meeting co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Energy Kamal Abbasov and Special Secretary of the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Bushra Aman, highlighted the friendly and brotherly relations between the two countries and noted that there are ample opportunities for expanding cooperation in various fields of the economy. He noted the importance of the Agreement on Energy Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the development of energy cooperation between the two countries. He also noted that the Joint Working Group on Energy will make new contributions to the development of relations between the two countries.

Co-chair of the Joint Working Group on Energy from Pakistan Bushra Aman emphasized the importance of friendly relations between the two countries and expressed satisfaction with close cooperation in various fields. He expressed confidence that the cooperation between SOCAR and Pakistani oil and gas companies will continue even more successfully.

Then, in accordance with the agenda of the meeting, issues arising from energy cooperation between the two countries were considered, and discussions were held on promising opportunities for the development of mutual cooperation. Presentations on oil and gas and renewable energy fields were made. The Pakistani side invited Azerbaijan to participate in projects in relevant fields.

At the end of the meeting, the protocol of the First Meeting of the Joint Working Group on Energy between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan was signed online.

The representatives from the Ministries of Energy and Economy, SOCAR, Azerbaijan Investment Holding and Azerbaijan Investment Company, as well as ambassadors of Azerbaijan to Pakistan and Pakistan to our country attended at the meeting.
