Meeting was held with the delegation of World Bank

Deputy Energy Minister Samir Valiyev met with the World Bank delegation.

During the meeting, discussions were held on the project of strengthening the transmission network (AZURE) in order to ensure the integration of renewable energy sources into the network, the measures taken were evaluated, and the work done to connect 1 GW solar and wind power plants to the transmission network to be implemented by Masdar was reviewed. The measures and the next steps to be taken in connection with the connection of 445 MW Bilasuvar and 315 MW Banka solar power plants to the grid were discussed. The importance of accelerating the process of ensuring the construction of power transmission lines in accordance with the implementation schedule for the connection of projects to the transmission network was noted.

The sides also exchanged views on a number of other issues arising from cooperation in the energy sector.
