Meeting with members of Laos-Azerbaijan Friendship Association

A meeting was held at the Ministry of Energy between Deputy Minister Orkhan Zeynalov and a delegation of members of the Laos-Azerbaijan Friendship Association led by the Deputy Minister of Energy and Mines of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, President of the Laos-Azerbaijan Friendship Association Thongphat İnthavong.

At the meeting, the sides talked about the relations of friendship and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Laos, and stressed that there is a great potential for expanding relations in the field of energy along with other areas.

Information was provided about the work done in the oil and gas sector in Azerbaijan, the steps taken in the field of renewable energy development, especially in the field of green energy transition, and the implemented projects, and the joint cooperation opportunities were evaluated. The other side was informed in detail about the energy initiatives on the activity agenda within the Azerbaijan's chairmanship of the COP29 event. Talking about the vast energy potential of the Caspian Sea, the work done on the Caspian Sea-Black Sea-Europe and Central Asia-Azerbaijan-Europe green energy corridors was brought to the attention. 

The sides also exchanged views on other issues arising from mutual cooperation between Azerbaijan and Laos, and expressed satisfaction with the participation of the Lao People's Democratic Republic at the Baku Energy Week to be held in June this year.
