In the United Arab Emirates, the Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov met with US Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources Geoffrey Ross Pyatt. The meeting took place in Dubai at the National Pavilion of Azerbaijan, created within the COP 28.

Geoffrey Pyatt first got acquainted with the National Pavilion of Azerbaijan and was informed about the country's green energy and climate policy, its goals and the implemented green development course.

The meeting participants discussed measures to reduce methane emissions, create onshore and offshore green energy capacities in Azerbaijan, produce hydrogen and transmit electricity and green hydrogen along the Caspian-Black Sea-Europe Energy Corridor. It was noted that by 2027, 1,870 MW of renewable energy power will be integrated into the country's energy system, mega production facilities will be created on the Caspian Sea with the aim of exporting electricity from renewable sources to Europe, and the construction process will begin after the completion of the technical and economic feasibility study carried out for this purpose.

The joining opportunities of the Central Asian countries to this corridor through Azerbaijan were considered during the conversation. The US Assistant Secretary of State welcomed the creation of a green energy bridge across Azerbaijan from Central Asia to the European Union.
