A meeting was held with the members of the Public Council at the Ministry of Energy

On 17 November, Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov met with members of the re-established public council under the Ministry of Energy.

The Minister congratulated the elected members of the Public Council and wished them success in their activities. The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev stressed that relevant instructions and recommendations were given on cooperation with civil society institutions in order to increase transparency in the activities of state bodies in our country and develop civil-state relations.

According to the law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on public participation, the importance of participation of citizens and civil society institutions in the preparation and implementation of state policy in various spheres of public life was brought to the attention.

At the meeting, it was emphasized that the opinions and proposals of the members of the Public Council in the drafting projects of new normative-legal acts and improvement of the relevant legislation will be treated with care in the future, and confidence was expressed in ensuring successful activities in close cooperation.

During the meeting, members of the Public Council expressed their gratitude for the transparent and fair conduct of the elections and their readiness for cooperation.

Then the Energy Minister presented membership cards to the members of the public council. He gave instructions to the relevant structural units of the Ministry to expand the activities of the Public Council.

It should be noted that the re-established public council under the Ministry of Energy in accordance with the law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on public participation consists of 7 members.
