Azerbaijan sends another humanitarian aid to Ukraine consisting of electrical equipment
The first part of the electrical equipment for the purpose of providing humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine was sent by Azerbaijan from the territory of the Sumgayit Technology Park. Upon the Order of President Ilham Aliyev dated 17 July 2023, the cargo supplied by the Ministry of Energy includes more than 555,000 meters of electric cables and wires. The cargo carried by 14 trucks is being sent to support the restoration of sustainable electricity supply to the war-affected areas in Ukraine.
It is planned to send the next parts of the aid, which is organized on the basis of applications received from Ukraine, with a total value of 7.6 million USD.
It should be noted that humanitarian aid related to electrical equipment was sent by our country to Ukraine earlier. The total amount of humanitarian assistance provided by Azerbaijan to Ukraine in connection with the crisis, including support for recovery and reconstruction works, is more than 33 million USD. A total of 154 Ukrainian youngsters suffered from the war and who have lost family members have been sent to Azerbaijan for medical and socio-psychological rehabilitation as part of the humanitarian help. The Linguist Humanitarian Lyceum named after Zarifa Aliyeva, which was devastated as a result of military actions in Irpen, has been totally repaired, and Azerbaijan is currently doing extensive reconstruction work on a number of social facilities severely damaged there.
