The next meeting of the Commission on the implementation of pilot projects in the field of use of renewable energy sources was held
The fifth meeting of the commission established by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 5 December 2019 “On the implementation of pilot projects in the field of use of renewable energy sources” was held. Reports on the work done during the current period were heard at the meeting chaired by the Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov.
The Minister spoke about the achievements and prospects in the field of development of renewable energy in our country under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev. He said that the largest solar power plant in the region - Garadagh SPP-will be commissioned in the coming days. It was also noted that work is underway on the development of the liberated territories as a green energy zone, regular monitoring is carried out in the relevant area. Noting that Nakhchivan was also declared a green energy zone by the head of the state, the implementation of the state program on socio-economic development for 2023-2027, which includes increasing the share of renewable energy sources in the autonomous republic, was discussed. At the same time, it was noted that work is underway to export green energy to Europe.
At the meeting, the allocation of offshore territories for renewable energy projects, documents to be signed, integration of new powers into the network and other issues were discussed.
The meeting attended by representatives from the Ministries of Energy, Emergency Situations, Ecology and Natural Resources, Defense, Economy, Finance, Justice, Agriculture, Digital Development and Transport, State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azerenergy OJSC, Azerishig OJSC, Central Bank, State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) ended with the discussion of the next steps and tasks related to the implementation of renewable energy projects in Azerbaijan.
