Electricity production in the republic increased by 28.2 million kWh in 9 months

According to operational data for January-September 2023, total electricity production in Azerbaijan amounted to 21538.6 million kWh. in comparison with the same period last year, electricity production increased by 28.2 million kWh (0.13%).

During 9 months, electricity production at TPPs amounted to 19 854.5 million kWh, at HPPs to 1417.1 million kWh, and on other sources to 267.0 million kWh. 44.6 mln kWh of electricity was generated at WPPs, 53.2 mln kWh at SPPs, and 169.2 mln kWh at the solid household waste incineration plant.

During the reporting period, electricity generation made up 19404.6 mln kWh on Azerenergy OJSC (18078.3 mln kWh at TPPs, 1326.3 mln kWh at HPPs), 368.2 mln kWh on State Energy Agency of Nakhchivan AR (240.0 mln kWh at TPPs, 79.5 mln kWh at HPPs, 48.7 mln kWh at SPP), 34.4 mln kWh at WPPs on Azerishig OJSC, and 1731.4 mln kWh on Independent PPs).

In January-September 2023, the electricity exports amounted to 1841.8 mln kWh, and imports to 179.6 mln kWh.

It should be noted that the electricity generation in the republic in September 2023 amounted to 2293.4 million kWh.  During the month, the imports of the electricity production amounted to 10.3 million kWh, exports to 313.4 million kWh.
