The Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov met with the Minister of Energy and Industry of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, the Deputy Prime Minister of Iraq, Minister of Oil Hayyan Abdul Ghanni, and the Secretary General of the Organization of Oil Exporting Countries (OPEC) Haitham Al Ghais in Vienna.

At the meeting with the Minister of Energy and İnfrastructure of the UAE Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, the cooperation with Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Masdar, TAQA in the oil and gas and renewable energy sectors, as well as in the regulation of the global oil market was discussed. Satisfaction with the green energy partnership between the UAE and Azerbaijan was expressed. The current situation on the implementation of the Garadagh SPP with a capacity of 230 MW, which will be commissioned soon, as well as onshore and offshore green energy projects with a capacity of 4 GW was reviewed.

At the meeting with Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil Hayyan Abdul Ghanni , it was noted that our countries successfully cooperate in the OPEC plus format in order to stabilize the global oil market. SOCAR's supply of Iraqi crude oil and oil products to the world market was mentioned. The importance of the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Oil of the Republic of Iraq on cooperation in the fields of oil and gas for the development of energy cooperation between the two countries was discussed. It was noted that Iraq is interested in intensive cooperation with Azerbaijan in the fields of oil and gas.

The discussions with the OPEC Secretary General Haitham Al Ghais also covered the steps taken towards balancing the global oil market and the development of the oil industry. The necessity of establishing a platform for dialogue and cooperation was noted, in which all parties are involved in order to ensure energy security in the future.
