On 13 January, a groundbreaking ceremony of the 240 MW Khizi-Absheron Wind Power Plant to be built in Azerbaijan by ACWA Power of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was held. Following the ceremony, Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Saudi Arabian Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud held a press conference for local TV channels. The Ministers answered the questions about the importance of the new station to be built for the energy system of our country, the goals set to increase the share of renewable energy sources in the power generation, activities to be implemented to develop offshore wind energy potential and other topics.
