Contract of the Century

Three years ago today, the amended and restated agreement was signed for joint development of Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields in Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea and production sharing. One of the interesting points is thatnational leader Heydar Aliyev issued a decree on the signing of "Contract of the Century" on 14 September, 1994, and 23 years later, on the same day, under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the contract was extended for another 32 years.
