The Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on "Rational Use of Energy Resources and Energy Efficiency" envisages mandatory energy audits and appointment of energy managers in entities and non-residential buildings that meet criteria in the Articles 6.3 and 8.1; Decision No 309 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan on “Criteria for determining entities and non-residential buildings subject to the mandatory energy audit”, dated August 17, 2022.

Besides, the Law suggests application of energy management systems, The requirements to such systems and application of ISO50001 approved by the related Decision No 310 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, dated August 17, 2022.
