Law on Electricity of the Republic of Azerbaijan

Article 34.2. During the planning of electric power facilities, an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) document must be prepared in the manner stipulated by the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on "Environmental Impact Assessment", and this document must undergo state ecological expertise.
Article 34.3. When evaluating the environmental impact of existing electric power facilities, the requirements of Articles 4.20 and 4.21 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on "Environmental Impact Assessment" must be followed

"Rules and Evaluation Criteria for Assessing the Efficiency Potential of Electric and Heat Energy Production and Natural Gas Processing", approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan in its Decision No. 123 dated April 18, 2023

Article 3.1. Technical assessment criteria for efficiency potential include the following:
3.1.1. Production/processing volume;
3.1.2. Electric and thermal power;
3.1.3. Loss levels in produced/processed products;
3.1.4. Useful energy output (energy transmitted to the grid);
3.1.5. Useful work coefficient;
3.1.6. Specific fuel consumption for product production (amount of fuel consumed per unit of product at the output of the production facility);
3.1.7: Production of products per unit volume of gas in the natural gas processing sector.
The "State Accounting Rules for Harmful Substances Emitted into the Atmosphere and Harmful Physical Impacts", the "Rules for Issuing Special Permits for Emissions of Harmful Substances into the Atmosphere and Harmful Physical Impacts", and the "Rules on the Amount and Use of Payments for Obtaining Special Permits for Emissions of Harmful Substances into the Atmosphere and Harmful Physical Impacts" were approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan in its Decision No. 112 dated July 13, 2002.
