According to operational data on electricity over January-June 2020, electricity production in Azerbaijan amounted to 2153.7 million kWh, exports - 98.8 million kWh, and imports - 9.3 million kWh in June. In comparison with the same period in 2019, electricity production in June decreased by 14.1 million kWh, import by 9.9 million kWh while exports increased by 61.5 million kWh. 
In January-June of the current year, electricity production in the country increased by 65.2 million kWh in comparison with the same period last year and amounted to 12950.2 million kWh.
During the reporting period, electricity generation at TPPs increased by 27.8 mln kWh reaching to 12084.0 mln kWh, at HPPs decreased by 199.9 mln kWh reaching to 680.3 mln kWh, and at other sources (WPP, SPP and Solid household waste plant) decreased by 0.4 mln kWh reaching to 185.9 mln kWh in comparison with last year.  54.8 mln kWh of electricity was generated at WPPs, 23.0 mln kWh at SPPs, and 108.1 mln kWh at the solid household waste incineration plant.
In the first half of 2020 electricity generation made up 11571.3 mln kWh on "Azerenergy" OJSC (11002.6 mln kWh at TPPs, 568.47 mln kWh at HPPs), 195.4 mln kWh on State Energy Agency of Nakhchivan AR (75.8 mln kWh at TPPs, 99.8 mln kWh at HPPs, 19.8 mln kWh at SPP), and  1134.6 mln kWh on Independent PPs). 
During this period, electricity exports decreased by 52.2 mln kWh compared to the same period in 2019, amounting to 621.1 mln kWh. Electricity imports decreased by 8.8 mln kWh compared to the same period last year, amounting to 71.5 mln kWh.
